I love chocolate, especially chocolate with orange, and I love brownies. These vegan orange brownies hit the right note. Their overwhelming flavour puts you in a festive mood. Try them with gingerbread or a chai latte, and let it snow, let it snow, let it snow.
Preheat the oven to 350˚F.
Blend a small overripe banana and mix it with melted vegan shortening, water, apple cider vinegar and vanilla extract.
In a separate larger bowl, mix all the dry ingredients except chocolate chips and orange zest.
Pour liquid ingredients into the dry. Stir well.
Then fold in chocolate chips and orange zest and mix to spread it evenly.
Grease a baking dish and sprinkle it with some flour. Transfer brownie batter to it.
Bake for 25-30 minutes.
P.S. When you taste the batter, make sure you don’t eat it all.

Notes
If you bake brownies for 30 minutes, they will still be fudgy in the middle but more cake-y on the sides. So, test them after 20-25 minutes.
