The Lebkuchen spice mix is basically a German version of gingerbread spice. BUT it has way bolder and deeper flavor with lots of nuances and undertones.
When I made my own Lebkuchen spice mix, it absolutely blew my mind! The second I opened the spice grinder, those rich festive flavors took me to the German Christmas market with all its lights, goodies and cheerful crowd. And it made me happy like a little child.
I have a recipe of vegan Lebkuchen on the blog but this is not the only way you can use this spice blend. I’m going to dedicate December to my experiments with this magic powder, so stay tuned for more!
Put all whole spices in a spice grinder and process into fine powder.
Mix with the rest of ground spices and store in an airtight container.
It is best to consume Lebkuchen spice blend within two weeks, so I suggest to make it in small batches.
If you like to experiment, try to use this spice blend in classic vegan gingerbread cookies.
